The number of asylum applications in Germany has more than doubled since 2011. In 2012, Germany registered 53.300 asylum applications. This year 2014, more than 115.700 applications have been filed until August.

According to UMF (Bundesfachverband unbegleitete minderjährige Flüchtlinge e.V.), more than 5.548 underaged refugees came to Hamburg all by themselves. Considering the wars in Afghanistan, Syria, Iran and Iraque, the number auf refugees in Hamburg will increase even more.

There is a high probability that underaged refugees will live in Germany permanently. A good integration into our society without language barriers and with a good education is only possible when these children are psychologically healthy. That’s why psychotherapy for traumatized refugee children is urgently needed. Our mission is to help these children in their developments and to support them in their new life in exile
